Keith Benson waived by Atlanta Hawks

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, former Oakland center Keith Benson was waived by the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Drafted in the second round with the 48th pick overall, Benson was the Atlanta Hawks’ only draft pick.

In two preseason games, Benson scored four points (FG 2-5), three rebounds and three blocks.

Benson was the two-time Summit League Player of the Year (2010 and 2011) and named as the Lou Henson Award winner, given to the nation’s top mid-major player in 2010.
