Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land announced yesterday that customers of the Rochester Hills Secretary of State office now have a more convenient alternative for license plate tab renewal.

The Rochester Hills branch office, located at 2250 Crooks Road, now features a 24-hour self-serviceable machine. Patrons can scan their renewal notice at the kiosk and pay for updated license plate tabs using a major credit or debit card.

“Our Self-Service Stations provide customers with the services they need quickly and conveniently,” Land said in a press release. “It’s as easy as ‘scan, pay and go.’ Get your license plate tabs instantly without having to wait in line and be on your way in a matter of minutes.”

Available seven days a week, the station serves as part of Land’s initiative to provide convenience to customers of  Secretary of State branch offices.

Service stations were introduced in 2005 and can be found at a number of branches throughout the state.

Michigan residents can locate their nearest service station using the Branch Office Locator at www.Michigan.gov/sos.
