LANSING — By placing a check mark on line one of the Voluntary Contributions Schedule within your 2009 state income tax form, residents can help raise money for breast cancer research.

Donations of $5, $10 or more to Amanda’s Fund for Breast Cancer Prevention and Treatment go directly to the Michigan’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program, or BCCCP. This program provides free cervical and breast cancer screening and diagnostic services to low-income women in Michigan.

Since the program’s start in 1991, 150,000 women have been screened for breast cancer. More than 2,400 cases of breast cancer have been diagnosed.

For more about Amanda’s Fund and the Michigan BCCCP, visit their website at www.michigancancer.org/taxcheck-off.cfm.
