Oakland 67, Oral Roberts 64

The Golden Grizzlies men’s basketball (10-7) team kept its perfect conference record intact Thursday night, defeating Oral Roberts 67-64, and winning in a building where OU had lost its last nine games.

Senior point guard Johnathon Jones led Oakland with 16 points en route to the team’s fourth straight victory.

Oral Roberts had a late-game chance to tie, but missed a three-point shot as time expired.

Oakland center Keith Benson had another strong performance, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks. Derick Nelson and Ledrick Eackles also scored in double figures, recording 14 and 12 points, respectively.

For just the second time in school history, the Grizzlies have begun Summit League play with a 4-0 record.

Next up on the schedule for OU is a road game against Centenary College on Saturday.
